Today, Workers Memorial Day, we stop to honor and pay tribute to all of our brothers and sisters who were killed, injured or made ill on the job — and we resolve to do everything in our power to prevent anyone else from suffering the same fate.
All workers have the right to return home safe and sound after each and every day on the job. That’s why OPCMIA makes the safety and health of our members our number one priority. It’s why safety is fully integrated into all of our training, why we work with contractors on every jobsite to ensure that proper procedures are followed and proper PPE is worn, and why we battle to enforce and strengthen workplace health and safety laws and regulations.
So on this day — and every day — we mourn the dead and fight for the living. We pledge to relentlessly and fiercely safeguard the health of every proud OPCMIA member.
