USA’s Take a Hike Outside DC
October 15, 2022 @ 8:00 am - 10:00 am EDT

GREAT FALLS PARK – RIVER TRAIL MINI LOOP
Fall is a beautiful time to get outside. Join the Union Sportsmen’s Alliance (USA) and your union brothers and sisters for an easy 1.6-mile loop hike featuring breathtaking views of the Potomac River’s rushing falls and cascades as well as remnants of the Potowmack Canal, originally built by George Washington. Led by OPCMIA International Field Representative Ryan Stepano, the hike will be at a leisurely pace with time to take in the views and enjoy fellowship.
Everyone who participates in the hike will be entered in a drawing for a pair of Danner hiking boots. The winner will be selected at the end of the hike.
Getting There, Parking & Fee
Great Falls Park is about 30 minutes northwest of Capitol Hill. Parking can be tight, so we encourage carpooling or using a rideshare service. There is a park entrance fee of $20 per vehicle, $15 per motorcycle or $10 per person (by foot or bicycle). Cell reception is limited at the park and Wi-Fi is unavailable. If possible, plan your return ride before arriving at the park.
Make a Positive Difference!
The USA will provide plastic bags and gloves to any hikers willing to pick up any litter they see along the trail. Those who participate may complete a volunteer timecard to receive a free USA membership and volunteer t-shirt.
