Hi everyone, my name is Michael Carroll III and the proud son of Michael Carroll Jr. My father joined local 755 just three days after I was born and has been a member for over 23 years. He is not the only family member to be part of local 755. I come from generations of local 755 craftsmen, including my grandfather and my great-uncle who have worked and dedicated many years to this craft, and shaping our family’s lives. This fall is my senior year at California State University of Northridge where I will be completing a bachelor’s in public health. I will also be continuing my education in pursuit of a bachelor’s in radiologic sciences. In addition, I have also been working two part-time jobs, and volunteering at two hospitals. My hospital volunteer work has solidified my passion in the healthcare field, where I hope to make an impact. I want to become a radiology technician because I want to play a meaningful role in helping patients through the process of diagnosing and understanding their health issues. I am interested in combining patient care with medical imaging to help provide answers that guide treatment and improve outcomes for people. I would like to thank OPCMIA, and everyone involved with this honor for contributing to my education and for all the opportunities OPCMIA and local 755 have afforded me and generations of my family. I am profoundly grateful and proud for this opportunity and to be chosen as the recipient of the Patrick D. Finley Scholarship.
