My name is Emma Comer. I am 17 years old and from Oregon City, Oregon, recently graduating as part of the 2025 class at Oregon City High School. My Dad, Shaun Comer, has been a proud member of OPCIMA for 21 years and my grandfather for 28 years! While attending Oregon City High School, I was a four-year varsity volleyball player, helping lead our team to back-to-back 6A State Championship second-place finishes. I was the Event Coordinator for the AVID Leadership Club where we focus on volunteer opportunities and promoting college education. I also worked part-time while balancing academics and extracurriculars. I have been playing volleyball for ten years and am excited to continue my athletic journey at Eastern Oregon University this fall playing for their volleyball program. While at Eastern Oregon University, I will also be pursuing a degree in Nursing with a focus on psychiatric healthcare. My goal is to become a psychiatric nurse and help support individuals facing mental health challenges with compassion and care. I am incredibly thankful for the OPCMIA Patrick D Finley Scholarship and will be putting it directly toward my education. OPICMA has positively impacted my family, and I am truly grateful for this opportunity and your investment in my future.
