My name is Gaby Cordon-Lopez, and I am currently a senior in high school at GLCPS with a strong passion for helping others through healthcare. I am so grateful for the opportunity I have received. It is an honor to receive a scholarship from Patrick D. Finley Scholarship Fund. I am fully committed to attending University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, where I plan to study nursing. My goal is to complete four years of study and earn my Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), which will prepare me for a career dedicated to caring for and supporting people in need. Hard work and dedication are values that have always been important in my family. Both my father and my brother work Operative Plasterers’ and Cement Masons, and my father has proudly been working there since 2018. Their commitment and strong work ethic have inspired me to stay focused on my own goals. I hope to use my education and future career as a nurse to make a positive difference in the lives of many people by providing compassionate care and support to those who need it most.
