Kilah began her career in the Union Construction Trades as a Laborer for a Heavy Highway Road Building company to save money during the summers to pay for college. As she completed her Apprenticeship, she began to become more and more involved with the Union buy taking on a trustee role for the JATC for her local. The JATC and her Local were collectively building a training center and upon completion of the training center, Kilah applied for and was hired to be the Apprenticeship and Training Coordinator for the Milwaukee Area in November of 2011 and eventually the entire State of Wisconsin in November of 2015. Kilah spent seven years in that role before running for and being elected to the positions of Business Agent and Recording Secretary for Local 599 representing Area 558 Milwaukee in June of 2018. She’s also taken on other roles and is becoming politically active in her region by taking an Executive Board role for the Milwaukee Area Labor Council, and she also serves as the Financial Secretary for the Milwaukee Building and Construction Trades Council.

In her free time, Kilah enjoys outdoor sports like snowboarding, volleyball, hiking fishing and in general caring for her home, gardens, and pool that she was able to afford on her own through her career with OPCMIA.
