At the direction of OPCMIA General President Dan Stepano, Local 598 Toronto Business Manager Tony Mollica, Local 598 President Jason Langley, Local 919 Vancouver Business Manager Roy Bizzutto and other officials and staff carried our union’s flag at the third annual Canadian Concrete Expo, held January 22-23 in Toronto.
The OPCMIA leaders played a prominent and active role in the Expo, working to promote and support the members of our Canadian locals in Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, Edmonton and Vancouver. Meeting and networking with contractors, developers, concrete manufacturers and others, they emphasized the incomparable training, skills, safety, productivity and artisanship OPCMIA members uniquely possess.
The Canadian Concrete Expo is the country’s only national trade show dedicated to the needs, applications and solutions that relate to the Canadian concrete construction industry. More than 6,000 industry professionals attended the Expo, which boasted more than 300,000 square feet of show space, 350 exhibiting companies and 26 conference sessions.
The OPCMIA’s participation was part and parcel of General President Stepano’s strategy to generate more work opportunities and greater market share for members.
