Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg defined greatness. She possessed an extraordinary legal mind and used it to change the course of history, bringing our nation closer to the ideal of equality for all.
She kicked open the doors of opportunity to all American women by dismantling the wall of gender discrimination that she had to overcome throughout the course of her remarkable life. Every woman who can now pursue her dreams — from the boardroom to the courtroom to the construction site — owes a debt of thanks to Justice Ginsburg.
Equally important, she was a steadfast champion of workers’ rights, union rights, voting rights and civil rights. On every major case before the Court, she stood with our members and with all workers.
We deeply mourn her loss. And we urge our leaders to observe her final wish and continue her lifelong legacy of relentlessly blazing new trails to justice.
