Harry Kozachenko has been a proud OPCMIA member for 27 years, faithfully serving his brothers and sisters in various positions on Local Union 478’s Executive Board.
He also mentored many apprentice cement masons, and worked for the National Plastering Industry Joint Apprenticeship Trust Fund providing instruction to cement mason trainees through the OPCMIA Job Corps program at the Columbia Basin Job Corps Center.
And Harry actively participated in volunteer activities for his Union. As Local 478 Business Manager Wayne Summer put it, “It was very rare that Harry was not involved with our volunteer activities and he is loved by all of us.”
Indeed, Harry has been a model OPCMIA member, activist and leader. And now he needs our help. A few months ago, he was diagnosed with stage 4 kidney cancer. He has had to stop working while undergoing treatment and his family is facing financial difficulty as a result.
To help them get through this ordeal, Harry’s family has set up a “GoFundMe” page. In the spirit of our great union, we strongly encourage you to donate whatever you can spare. Harry and his family will be deeply grateful for your support.
