2020 Trades Women Build Nation Conference on Hold

In recent years, the OPCMIA’s Steel-Edge Women have been proud participants in the annual Trades Women Build Nations (TWBN) Conference.

This year’s 10th International Conference, scheduled for October 2-4, 2020 in Washington, D.C., has been put on hold due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. Organizers are encouraging potential participants NOT to make travel or hotel arrangements at this time. The moment a final decision is made, North America’s Building Trades Unions (NABTU) and the OPCMIA will let people know.

2021 Conference Will be Held in New Orleans

At the same time, the 2021 TWBN Conference has been announced. It will be held from October 1-3, 2021 in New Orleans. “We are looking forward to the biggest and best TWBN yet,” said OPCMIA Steel-Edge Women Chair Kilah Engelke, Business Agent for Local 599 Area 558. “This conference has become NABTU’s shining star. Even if it can’t be held in 2020, we know that next year will the brightest one ever. And our OPCMIA sisters will be there in full force, proud and strong.”
