General President Daniel Stepano

On behalf of the nearly 50,000 members of the OPCMIA, I want to wish all our brothers and sisters who have served in the armed forces of the United States and Canada—and those whose loved ones have served in the military—a happy Veterans Day.

We owe each of them a deep debt of gratitude for their patriotism, courage, and heroism in defending our freedoms and keeping our nations safe.

On Veterans Day—and every day—our veterans deserve more than our words and our thanks. They also deserve world-class health care through a stronger Veterans Administration in the U.S., career opportunities through programs like Helmets to Hardhats, and other meaningful efforts to help our returning heroes transition to productive, rewarding civilian lives.

We will continue to do everything we possibly can to ensure that our nations keep the sacred promise we make to our veterans. Surely, that is the very least we can do.

Daniel E. Stepano
