The Biden Administration’s just-issued guidance to state and local governments on how they may allocate the $350 billion in federal aid provided by the American Rescue Plan is exactly what is needed to ensure the funds are invested to benefit our nation’s working families.

Late yesterday, the U.S. House of Representatives empowered American workers to improve their lives by passing the Protect the Right to Organize (PRO) Act by a bipartisan vote of 225-206.

On behalf of the OPCMIA’s 56,000 members, I applaud the House’s courageous bipartisan vote today to impeach President Donald Trump. President Trump incited an armed insurrection on January 6th, an attempt to violently overturn the legitimate results of a free and fair election to keep himself in power in direct violation of his oath of office to “preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.”

Congress’ decision late last night to certify the election of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris as President and Vice President of the United States was a victory for democracy on a day when it was threatened like never before—both inside the U.S. Capitol and from the White House itself.

At a time when our economy remains stuck in a deep hole, when 26 million unemployed Americans urgently need assistance to feed their families and keep their homes, and when a resurgence in COVID-19 makes new setbacks likely, our nation cries out for leadership from the president of the United States.
