General President Daniel Stepano

In my view, Memorial Day 2021 means many different things.

First and foremost, as always, it is a solemn occasion in which we honor all those — many of whom were part of the OPCMIA family — who made the ultimate sacrifice for our countries and our freedom. We are forever in their debt.

Second, it is the symbolic start of summer, which this year also signifies our emergence from the COVID pandemic. If you, your friends and your loved ones have been vaccinated, this weekend may be an opportunity to get together in person for barbecues, picnics and other gatherings, perhaps for the first time in over a year. (And if you haven’t yet been vaccinated, please go to www.vaccines.gov to find where to get a vaccine near you.)

Above all, I hope this Memorial Day finds you healthy, well, enjoying your family, and looking forward to expanding work opportunities in the months to come.
