On behalf of the OPCMIA’s 56,000 proud members, I congratulate Joseph R. Biden, Jr. and Kamala D. Harris on their historic inauguration as President and Vice President of the United States, and pledge our support for their leadership in healing our nation, saving lives, reviving our economy and solving America’s many problems.
After four long years, America has strong, principled, honest, dedicated patriotic leaders of integrity in the White House.
America finally has a President and Vice President who will actually work to solve the COVID pandemic, moving heaven and earth to get vaccines in Americans’ arms and implementing bold measures to protect our health in the meantime.
America finally has a President and Vice President who will keep their promise to revitalize our nation’s crumbling infrastructure.
America finally has a President and Vice President who will fight for working families, uphold workers’ rights and empower more workers to improve their lives through collective bargaining.
America finally has a President and Vice President who will tell the truth, bring our nation together, and work to strengthen rather than undermine our democracy.
And America finally has a President and Vice President who will uphold their oaths of office, do their jobs, accept responsibility, and assume the mantle of leadership.
For all of these reasons and more, the OPCMIA will work tenaciously in the coming days weeks and months to pass President Biden’s American Rescue Plan, his Build Back Better Recovery Plan, the PRO Act, and other legislation that will help all Americans emerge from these troubled times in better shape than before.
We wish President Biden and Vice President Harris the best as they take office facing the toughest challenges of any Administration in at least the last 88 years. And we pledge to do our part to help them succeed. People’s lives — and the survival of our democracy — depend on it.
