Congratulations to AFL-CIO President Liz Shuler

On behalf of the OPCMIA, I want to offer my heartiest congratulations to Liz Shuler on her election as President of the AFL-CIO. We also congratulate Fred Richmond of the United Steelworkers on his election as AFL-CIO Secretary-Treasurer and Tefere Gebre on continuing his service as AFL-CIO Executive Vice President.

OPCMIA Mourns Richard L. Trumka

It was with great sadness that we learned of the sudden passing of AFL-CIO President Richard L. Trumka this morning. Over more than four decades of leadership, Rich Trumka leaves a legacy worthy of Samuel Gompers, Eugene Debs, John L. Lewis, William Green, Walter Reuther, George Meany and so many other titans of the U.S. labor movement.

Commemorating Memorial Day

In my view, Memorial Day 2021 means many different things. First and foremost, as always, it is a solemn occasion in which we honor all those — many of whom were part of the OPCMIA family — who made the ultimate sacrifice for our countries and our freedom. We are forever in their debt.
