In just his first year in office, President Joe Biden has already made history. He signed the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act into law, the largest investment ever made in our infrastructure, an achievement that eluded his predecessor. This urgently-needed bill will create 1.5 million jobs, including many for OPCMIA members.

The OPCMIA is deeply dismayed by Sen. Joe Manchin’s statement on Fox News yesterday that he opposes the Build Back Better Act. We hope he swiftly reconsiders his stance on legislation that would do more to improve the lives of working families and rebuild America’s middle class than any bill in at least a generation.

The OPCMIA applauds the Senate on its long-awaited passage of the largest infrastructure investment in American history. We now urge the House to swiftly follow suit and send the bill to President Biden’s desk for his signature.
