President’s Messages

On behalf of the OPCMIA General Executive Board, I wish every member of the OPCMIA family a joyous and merry Christmas. This Christmas may be very different from past holidays, but I hope that whether you are celebrating in person or virtually, you are able to connect with your loved ones and bask in the warmth of your family.

On behalf of the OPCMIA General Executive Board, I want to wish every OPCMIA member and your families a healthy and happy Thanksgiving.

Throughout the course of our 156-year history, countless proud OPCMIA members have served in the armed forces of the United States and Canada, defending our countries’ freedom. We are indebted to them for their patriotism, courage, and heroism.

On Labor Day 2020, as we honor and celebrate all our movement has done to empower workers to improve their lives, build the American middle class, give workers a voice on the job, advance workplace safety, and give us everything from the eight-hour day to the weekend, we now have another reason why workers need unions: the COVID-19 pandemic.

As the great John Lewis lies in state at the U.S. Capitol, OPCMIA mourns the loss of an American hero. The conscience of Congress and America, a man of extraordinary courage, we honor him by pledging to make “good trouble, necessary trouble” to end racism and win justice.
